Evening in the Canyon

I spent another day fishing one of my favorite stretches of the Lake Fork and enjoyed watching the sun set on the canyon walls.  The fishing was pretty good too!

Back at the cabin, family takes out the kayak

It was a full moon, so you can't expect me to stay off the water, can you?   I caught six nice fish, including this 16-inch cutthroat.

Morning on the Lake Fork

My friend Mitchell and I made it out on the Lake Fork for a morning of fishing on a new stretch of the river.  We did well, though the fishing turned off soon after lunch because the water got too warm.  Still a nice day on the water!

Double!  We each got a fish to the net at the same time.

Another Uncompahgre Sunset

I made it back up to one of my favorite places to watch the sunset.  This sunset was almost unreal, but a giant cloud covered Uncompahgre and blocked out the setting sun.  There was clear blue ski on both sides of this cloud.

This picture shows the big cloud that settled right over Uncompahgre and really dampened the sunset.

To the left of Uncompahgre, there was pretty blue sky.

Mountain Biking Up Cinnamon Pass

After a rare morning in the cabin, I rode a mountain bike around the lake and up the Cinnamon Pass shelf road to an old suspension bridge.  Those old miners were crazy.

New Handies Record

With family in town, we decided to hike our favorite fourteener, Handies Peak.  The weather didn't cooperate--it was raining and very cold--but we summited (and got back to the car) in record time.
