Mountain Biking Up Cinnamon Pass

After a rare morning in the cabin, I rode a mountain bike around the lake and up the Cinnamon Pass shelf road to an old suspension bridge.  Those old miners were crazy.

New Handies Record

With family in town, we decided to hike our favorite fourteener, Handies Peak.  The weather didn't cooperate--it was raining and very cold--but we summited (and got back to the car) in record time.

Guiding on Big Blue

Family came up to Lake City, so my uncle and I took everyone out to Big Blue to teach them to fly fish.

Interesting choice of wading shoes and socks.  Not sure if they are better pulled up or folded down like this.

Hamsa's first fish on the fly!

Another brook trout--nice first day!

Critters Around the Cabin

Still haven't seen a bear yet this summer, but we did spot another moose.

Round Top

Lake City got some much needed rain that blew out the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River, so I got some things done around the cabin and then took the 4x4 trail up Round Top to get a view of the mountains and of town.
