Few Weeks of Fall in Dallas

After surviving the drive back to Texas, I was able to enjoy a few fun weeks of fall in Dallas.

Several days without fishing was too much: Kyle and I took kayaks out on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River looking for some fish

Usually I spend the evening (and the rest of the day), fishing on the river, but on this particular day, I was around the cabin, so I took the kayak out and paddled around and took in the sunset.

Kayaking the Animas River

After a few days of serious fishing, I took a break by doing some more fishing--this time on the Animas with my uncle in his kayak.  After an hour or so on the water, I made it to Gardenswartz Sporting Goods to get resupplied, and then I took my old inflatable two-man kayak to the Animas whitewater park on the edge of town.  The fishing was fun even though we only caught one fish; I was clearly in over my head with the rafting.
